Fun With Wax

Since we don't get a babysitter, we tend not to do much for 'romantic' holidays - which is fine with us since we know we'll have more than enough time together after Sam leaves the house. We're not looking forward to that day just yet - but his teenage years are still a long way off.

Anyway, we still celebrate romantic holidays - we just like to do a family lunch instead of a date. So this year, we visited one of my favorite restaurants - Ted's Montana Grill. I know what you're thinking, Ted Turner's restaurant, really? Oh yeah, the food is delicious - especially the bison. Who knew I would be enjoying bison burgers and bison meatloaf and such, just a few years after being a vegetarian. I try not to eat a lot of red meat, but when I do, I'd like something lean - and bison is much better for you than beef.

So, you know how most restaurants will give kids crayons and a cheap coloring book to play with until the food arrives? Well, Ted's offers what they call Wikki Stix. It's basically skinny sticks of wax that kids can mold to make letters, shapes, etc. Sam used to try to eat them when he was younger, but he's past the point of putting absolutely everything in his mouth now. So he gets into the fun by doing things like this:
Isn't he too cute? (the answer is YES!!)
