Crash, Pow, Boom!

My drive home from work isn't complete until I see someone broken down or crashed on the side of Capital Blvd. I honestly think I see more accidents down here than I did in DC. So on my drive home today, I saw this fender bender.
Earlier in the week - when it was really raining - there were some real beauties (think facing the wrong direction and stuck in the median), but I couldn't get my cell phone out quick enough to get snap happy.

Parking Lots are Dangerous

I was out picking up lunch today at my local Qdoba and was a bit surprised to see this.
I know that people drive crazy through parking lots - I myself rarely stop for those random stop signs. But I was surprised to see a car that was t-boned by the truck above and a cop writing up tickets. The other car was up on a curb and pushed into a small parking lot tree. I would have taken a picture of that, but it's certainly not safe to do that while driving - especially with a cop standing there with his ticket book out and ready. Maybe next time.

Scary Cat - Prepared

With a tropical storm looming, Scary Cat put on some slickers.
It's good to be prepared.

Try Text Messaging

I never really had a problem with people talking on the cell phones - until I went to get my oil changed today. I decided to sit outside because the weather was nice and the waiting room was packed with some crappy daytime tv blaring. As I was reading my book, this guy pulled up and was apparently so important that he felt the need to let everyone know ALL his business.
I personally don't care which hoochie you had your way with
last night (although I think there was quite a bit of exaggeration going on there) and how you are awaiting some random test results. I also don't care about some weird dream you had where you met some random entertainer and made a business deal. In hindsight, the Michael Vick jersey was a big red flag that this guy would interrupt my reading with inflated, self indulgent stories. Oh well - I guess it was entertaining - to an extent.

More Smart Cars

I ran into another smart car on my way home from work this week. This one is a big brighter than the last one I posted.
I guess some people just like to be noticed more than others.
