On our ride home from DC, we saw quite a few sights. But this one has me puzzled. Look really closely at the passenger (you may have to click on it to get a larger version - and then squint a little): Is she:
Doing travel yoga
Sleeping awkwardly
Dead
I'm hoping it's #2 - but who sleeps like that in a car?
We got all spiffy for Thanksgiving - and here is the most handsome of our bunch: He's got his new Spongebob Doodle Pro to keep him occupied on the trip.
I think this lady will be hard to miss on the road - even though she's riding a moped. It's nice to see people getting all 'dolled up' for the holiday though.
Ok, maybe I got spoiled in DC. If you have an accident up there, you don't have to call the cops - you just get your heap out of the road and then exchange your insurance info. That hasn't trickled down to Raleigh yet, where this little fender bender caused this much traffic And you don't see abandoned vehicles on the side of the road up there either - but I like that they let you do that around here.
It's in the 20s and 30s in the mornings this week, so I was a bit surprised when I saw this guy on my way to work Did someone forget to tell him that gas is back below $2 a gall. again?
Today the electrician came and finished getting things wired. He also put up the new fans and flood lights and made sure they and the new outlets all work. Here's what we have now:
It's day 15 and they appear to have finished the painting and put up the screen door. Now we just need the rest of the screens and the electrician to finish up - and I think we're done.
David is out of town this week on business. So Sam and I are misbehaving - well not really, but maybe a little. Here is Sam after eating some of his chocolate halloween candy David isn't a chocolate eater, so this is just a little reminder that Sam did get a little of me in there - well, besides the eyes and hair.
The rain kept the guys away yesterday - but they were back today and got some things done. They framed out the door (peek-a-boo) and they started putting up the frames for the screens
Sam isn't much of a meat eater. We were hoping he would come out of the womb begging for bbq but that may not happen for a while still. I did however make a break through this week and got him to try bacon. Yes, it's turkey bacon - I can't stomach the real stuff with all that fat - ugh! And to make sure he gets more than his share of calories - those eggs have cheese and milk in them and that toast has the biggest pat of butter under all that jelly.
Oh, and Sam helped me vote today. His first presidential election and we voted for Obama - fingers crossed, he's not a popular pick in our neighborhood, but we believe in him!
With the weather starting to get crappy, the contractors weren't able to do much today. But they did get the handrail for the steps complete. Now Sam can walk down the steps by himself.
With the election coming up, I was eager to cast my vote. We went to the Triangle Town Center a few times to try and early vote - but always found a long line. Since today is the last day to early vote, I decided to try one more time. Sam and I drove up at 10:00 - when they open - and found this enormously long line: On the right is where the line starts - it wraps back down and around on the left side.... Then it wrapped around that building and down the back side. This was by far the longest line we had encountered - so needless to say, we're going to wait until Nov 4th.
David and I don't get to eat many meals together without Sam - therefore they tend to be adventures in dodging thrown food and averting hunger tantrums. But today he gave us the gift of a quiet lunch out. He actually slept through the meal and the ride home. Wow - he DOES love us!
